Work With Me

From Operational IT to Automation and Cloud ⚙️

My IT journey started where things just had to work- in the trenches of daily operations.

For seven years in the public sector, I was the sole IT guy responsible for the entire infrastructure. Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, network, backups, security, and the daily grind. The responsibility for the whole stack was on me - from long-term architecture to middle-of-the-night fire drills to keep the lights on.

It taught me how to stay calm under pressure. But it also made me realize that this is a way to survive, not to thrive. When you’re a one-man show putting out fires, you never have the bandwidth for actual improvement or deep specialization.

Why Automation and Cloud? 🚀

That experience shifted my mindset. I didn’t just want to do the same work faster; I wanted to kill the repetitive tasks, eliminate human error, and build environments that don't need a babysitter.

That’s how I got into PowerShell, Python, Microsoft 365, and Azure. I stopped seeing scripts as just a way to save a few clicks and started seeing them as the foundation for stable, predictable, and secure infrastructure. I’m putting more focus into cybersecurity these days because modern systems can’t just be functional - they have to be resilient and sustainable.

The best automation isn't the most complex one. It’s the one that solves a real problem, makes sense, and actually lasts.

Tech is Only Half the Battle 🧠

I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way - learning on the fly with documentation on one monitor and a desperate search query on the other. I learned that it’s okay to admit you don’t know something, as long as you’re relentless about finding the answer.

In IT, it’s not a problem if you don’t know something. The problem is losing your curiosity. Real trust isn't built by someone who claims to have all the answers; it’s built by someone who shows up, tells it like it is, and actually gets the job done.

Where I’m Heading 🎯

Today, I help simplify IT environments and automate the boring stuff so that systems aren't dependent on a single person being glued to the chair. My focus is on automation, the Microsoft Cloud, and cybersecurity - areas where I see real value being created.

My background in operational IT gives me a broader perspective. I don’t see technology as an isolated set of tools, but as part of a system that has to work both technically and practically.

Because the best problem to have is the one you never have to solve twice.
